i hadn't seen this film in a long time but i do remember thinking it was pretty fun so i was excited to watch it again. well, i was not prepared for how good a film this was. the direction is phenomenal, the music is fantastic, the comedy is gold and the car chases, while not only look real and convincing, are so over the top you can't help but smile. want more reasons that this movie rocks? ok, here you go: john belushi, james brown, carrie fisher, aretha franklin, cab calloway, john candy, ray charles, nazis and steven spielberg? a serious comedy classic that should be watched by everyone... read more

i'd say this could easily lose half an hour and be a better movie; but honestly once the second act kicks in the writing becomes pretty lazy as well. especially the "getting the band back together" arc is not very involving at all. it sort of devolves into a disjointed showcase for guest artists. which is a pity because the opening half hour is 5-star stuff that i didn't want to see end. amazing urban chicago locales; warped, cartoonesque logic. works way better as a time capsule than an actual movie to sit through. read more

how can you critique a movie so unabashedly fun as this one? it's wall-to-wall music and automotive mayhem. belushi and aykroyd get the most laughs possible and the whole movie hauls ass at a breakneck pace. i loved it. in my humble opinion, not a damn thing was wrong with this movie. a comedy classic that's taken me way too long to watch. nuff said. read more

if the blues brothers is so good why haven't they made the purples brothers yet? seriously considering just not watching a single "must see 80s classic" ever again because they're all so underwhelming and way too long for their basic boring premise read more

As they organize a big concert for the benefit of the institute they have been raised in, two grown-up orphans must run from the police, a neo-nazi group, a rival country band, and a very angry woman. Conceived to cash on the characters that Aykroyd and Belushi had created for Saturday Night Live, and rushed into production before a final script was even completed, "The Blues Brothers" finds a miraculous balance between epic, comedy, and music. C bin beau Mais c vraiment pas le succes que je pensais que cetait quand jetais jeune y a plein de problemes decriture. Beaucoup trop cest comme si ils en avaient rien a foutre et mettais le paquet se les acteurs en vedette pour improviser de quoi de drole de temps en temps (ce qui ont surement fait) Par rapport au scenes y manque tellement de conflit les personnages ont leur but trop facilement et ya rien qui les bloque de sordide ou drole appra pour la fin et le personnage de carrie fisher, appara de ca vraiment moins drole wue dans mes souvenirs ya pas vraiment dessaie a faire desjokes... read more
