Seems overrated to me.

I don't know why anyone finds this philosophically deep. Rebelliousness for the sake of rebelliousness is not an end in of itself; I guess that's the message- but then that's only useful information, if you haven't listened to any other positive role model in your whole life.

It seems dated

A hollywood production I cannot fault it.

The use of an unreliable narrator in film is not common enough.

So at least that part of this movie is well executed

i straight up love this film. everything about it, to me, is perfectly planned and controlled. i don't think brad pitt has ever been better than as tyler durden and ed norton was on top form as narrator. they were a fantastic pairing that really worked well together. i had never heard of the book before the film so that last act reveal completely blew my mind as i didn't expect it at all. the replaying of scenes with ed norton in place of brad pitt was a master stroke. it hammered it home and made it more than just a simple twist. so much awesome in one film. you sly bastard fincher. you sly... read more
