i assumed i knew everything about this movie, but apparently all the film critics in all the land didn't want to mention that this movie was basically a comedy? classic movies are fun, let's remember that. read more

[62] hitchcock unsurprisingly elevates the film with tons of admiral creative choices: restricting the camera to one setting, a notable color flare in the third act, using camera techniques that subtly impose us into the protagonist's head, etc. overall, a distinguished murder mystery, even if lackluster during the first two acts, as they don't provide the style and sensory delivery i really love in film. script-heavy with an unexceptional script and unexceptional characters, most notably lisa and her relationship with jefferies. fortunately, the third act's atmospheric tension saves... read more
