i just want to comment on how incredibly good morricone's score for this movie is. it's usage with the chime from the watch is masterful. while the music in the good the bad and the ugly might be more iconic, it's used more masterfully here. might be a bold claim seeing as how i haven't seen the latter in years, but the score for this movie is truly spectacular. read
a very solid step-up from a fistful of dollars. clint eastwood now has the wonderful lee van cleef at his side as his foil, and it adds to the film a lot. he also is joined by the dastardly gian maria volonté as the film's great new villain, indio. this trio of characters makes every scene a joy to watch and is a much better turnout than the previous film only having clint eastwood and a charming old man. there's also bonus points for being an actually original movie this time around, the score by my boy ennio being more prominent, and the incredible final duel which almost made me bump this... read
