the first half of the film is damn near perfection. the cinematography is gorgeous, the acting is superb, and the score is the greatest in the history of film. lawrence is unknowable and the film understands that and doesn't attempt to fit him into a box. peter o'toole is incredible and delivers an all-time performance. omar sharif and alec guinness are fantastic as well. i know guinness would never be acceptable as prince faisal now, but i'm glad he was cast because his performance is as good as it possibly could be. the second half is nowhere near enjoyable, though i understand why. read more

As part of my 52 classics in a year this is one that's near the front of the line. I cant believe its taken me so long to watch this but glad I eventually did. They just don't make epics like this anymore, the locations were fantastic and it was filmed in several countries. The acting performances were all great especially Peter O'Toole, I also thought Omar Sharif was a standout. Its a shame that all the actors are no longer with us but this movie will live on as a true classic. read more
