Things to Come

while its trailer seems to promise a magical solution to the main characters problems, this is a distinctly french film without any clear-cut answers. the ending suggests something along the lines of “cest la vie,” or “and yet, life goes on somehow,” which is uber-french and perhaps the only truly plausible way to put an end to a film like this. the noticeable lack of music/score in the film is welcoming as you get to hear the sounds of wind, birds chirping, and the like instead of artificial sounds. unfortunately, its also why the use of pop music that occurs three or four times in the film... read more
