A Bronx Tale

it is a good gangster film that is definitely made in the legacy of goodfellas and the godfather. chazz palminteri gives a great performance and robert de niro is good as well. lillo brancato mostly is just very believable as de niro's son. he isn't anything special but he does enough to work in this film. it captures the feel of new york really well and mostly achieves its purpose. it is a story worth telling and it tells it well. read more

Somehow I never realized that Robert de Niro had directed anything, so I was definitely surprised when I saw his name pop up on the screen as the director for A Bronx Tale. I think it's kind of a shame that he chose to tell another mobster story (or mobster ajecent) because it made it too easy to draw comparisons to the many that he has been in. read more
