oh, the horror! no, i can't believe it either but here i am doing another review for a sequel. up this week is the follow-up to last year's much hyped only mediocre "stomach churning" splatter-fest 'hostel'. in 'part ii' the roles have been reversed (in more ways than one as you'll see after viewing it) as the victims this time are young women. upon changing plans the three ladies end up traveling to slovakia after persuaded by the gorgeous model from their art class. one by one they are kidnapped and taken to the oh so familiar place visited last year where a world of torture and pain read

film #15 of hooptober part vii: the new blood i saw hostel: part ii many years ago, when i was still riding off the utter low of the first hostel. having been thoroughly underwhelmed (to say the least) with the first, the negative feelings carried over to the sequel and i considered it a very vague step up, but still a waste. but in the past year, i'd heard several people say i should revisit the film and give it another chance. i'm glad that i did so because while i still have issues hostel: part ii, it's light years better when you go in with willing to give it a chance. this film was read

if hostel left you wanting more insight into the grisly world of murder for sale, then hostel: part ii should be your jam. the movie is paced a bit tighter, allowing for it to "get to the good stuff" quicker, and spend more time wallowing in its lurid content. is this bad? not necessarily. as a viewer, i already know that the vacationing protagonists are screwed, basically. i don't need this sequel to try and re-create that same protracted sense of false-security that the original movie had as its first act. that would be boring and even marginally insulting. instead, the movie wastes no time... read
