cool. that is the only word that i can use to really describe this movie well. this film is dripping with coolness. gould, in this film, is almost the definition of cool. and, honestly, that is all the film seems interested in. it doesn't seem to interested in the labyrinthine plot or anything other than being cool. but, it works very well for most of the movie. the soul of this film is very much unlike the majority of films of it's time. at its heart it is very much similar to the noirs that we see from earlier decades. altman takes the conventions, the form, and the soul from those movies... read more
