i saw sleepy hollow in the theatres when it was first released. i remember loving it, finding it hilarious and loving johnny depp's performance. i have not seen it since. i just watched it again and i tell you i do not remember this film being a horror movie because that is exactly what it is. it's filled with murder, and scares and heads being chopped off and blood and more blood. it's also not as funny as i remember it. it is still funny in parts, especially johnny depp who gives another (and maybe one of his last good performances). this particular performance though is hard to judge on... read more

it is truth, but truth is not always appearance. ~ ichabod crane tim burton and johnny depp attempt to take on a story that fits both of their sensibilities well, in terms of tone. the result is a film that has all of the burton trademarks and interesting visual style that can sometimes make him a compelling filmmaker. plus, it isn't too over the top in this film and depp gives a very good performance at the center of this film. it's nice to see depp giving a performance that is a little more subtle while still playing in the comedic territory that he is so good at pulling off. this film read more
