so here's the deal - there were moments where i found myself laughing hysterically that i could tell the film wanted me to take seriously, the film's take on morality is a bit naive, it tries to hammer in the same message in your face at times and the ending is corny af but other than that this is kino (especially the riverboat sequence) - definitely way ahead of its' time. slightly unrelated but the fact that it got panned by critics on release just goes on to show how much critics are vulnerable to the zeitgeist of the times so much so that they are unwilling to ignore good stuff like this... read more
