i don't know how i didn't appreciate this the first time i watched it. it is one of the finest, if not the finest, western ever made. there isn't a lot that i can add that hasn't been said. it is beautifully photographed by winton c. hoch and max steiner's score complements it perfectly. read

having seen a couple of john ford's films before and always heard this was the greatest of his films, although a very good film but i would disagree. the man who shot liberty valance will be my pick. the cinematography and set design well incredible, the opening and closing shots might be the most beautiful in movie history. 8/10 r/365movies | cw 34 - book adaptations | #1 read

Contains one of the most gorgeous opening and ending compositions I've ever seen. But aside from the technical aspect, I tended to drift off at times due to the pacing which is 100 percent just a me thing. read

This one was apparently John Wayne's favourite film and even though I haven't seen all his films yet I did find this really well done. The standout was the cinematography that was apparently filmed on location in Monument Valley which is really quite stunning. Watch out for a young Natalie Wood read

A cover story inNew Yorkmagazine called it the most influential movie in American history. And yet at its center is a difficult question, because the Wayne character is racist without apology--and so, in a less outspoken way, are the other white characters. Is the film intended to endorse their attitudes, or to dramatize and regret them? Today we see it through enlightened eyes, but in... read

9.6 centauros del desierto aun con sus fallos y elipsis de narración que la hacen más interesante aún una auténtica obra maestra. si solotuvieramos que ver una película de john ford esta sería. read
