??? why was the canabalism the most normal thing about this movie? wtf was going on in that school? this is why you don't give into peer pressure - you might get a taste for human flesh ☺ honestly though this movie was interesting, but everything going on in the background (the initiation ceremony, the crazy drug parties, the roomate deciding he wasn't gay for 1 night, her sister helping her wax her coochie) really distracted from the main plot. it would have been way better if they focused more on her growing desire to eat people. read more

i thought this was gonna be too intense for me, as a new french horror movie. i mean i got burned pretty bad on martyrs which is just a hateful little movie. but this was good, funny when it had to be, and stylish. and i would say juuuuust over the top enough. read more

The producers must have been on drugs like literally everyone in this movie. It could have been a good story, it also has some decent gore scenes. But the weird orgies, excessive drug parties, the entire school is so f**ed up, her cannibalism hardly registers as noteworthy lol.

Cannibalism runs in the family now? The only explanation for why she just randomly goes mental 5 minutes in...

horror x52 2018 directed by a woman watched this on itunes. this was a pretty solid cannibalism horror movie. there were plenty of gross, what the fuck am i watching moments and some funny moments (lol the dog trying to lick some pussy). i'm probably never eating raw meat again, and that is one fucked up family. read more

i wasn't really sure about raw at first. it wasn't really clicking with me for a while, through no fault of the movie itself- i just wasn't feeling it. then i started to pick up on the little details. as a gross out movie, raw is alright, but it's so obviously much more than that. it's a horrifying movie, but maybe not graphically so. what's horrifying is all the subtle implications the movie makes throughout. not-so-quietly comparing justine to an animal that has tasted human flesh. you put the animal down because it's no longer safe to be around. what does that say about justine? the movie... read more

film 71 of obligatory october of horror ii jumpscare counter: just one but a very good one a beautiful and inspiring coming of age story it's been a while since a film made me feel genuinely sick. raw is an exactly the kind of horror film i love; it starts out slow and gets more and more fucked up as it goes. this is one of those films where i'm really struggling to form coherent thoughts about it. raw had a pretty big effect on me but that's because a lot of its themes just felt tailored almost directly to me. definitely a case where my rating may change later after i have more time to read more
