drive was better. but this is good watch. the acting and cinamatogrophy and the way the movie is handled by the taxi drive genre is entertaining. the way the movie become minimum in dialogue . the way it doesn't show voilance specifically and shows the human faces ande motions. read more

this is one of the most oddly crafted films i've seen in recent memory. i mean that in the most positive sense possible. joaquin phoenix delivers yet another fantastic performance here. he displays a nuanced range of emotions perfectly, while also demonstrating that his character, joe, is capable of doing anything at any time, and pheonix can easily switch cylinders and become absolutely terrifying. this is my introduction to lynne ramsey and her direction here was spectacular. she uses the camera extremely well, using long tracking shots following pheonix and keeping the camera always read more
