i don't think i've ever wanted to experience falling in love as much as i did while watching this movie. it was a beautiful and heartfelt film that left me longing for a fraction of what elio&oliver experienced.. anyways. my dad needs to take lessons from michael stuhlbarg right now immediately. read more

one thing that i noticed in this film is during elio's and oliver's intimate moments, the camera felt reserved, as in acknowledging it's their space, and it is also private. we are allowed to spectate but it's also hard to latch ourself on any of them. the whole reserved thing came off at the powerful monologue delivered by michael stuhlbarg. perhaps the camera is less reserved than i thought. the aftermath of the heartbreak, theirs and theirs only. and i supposed it will follow them for a very very long time, possibly forever. i hope i get to rewatch it again someday. read more
