what a great movie! i love this movie! it never gets old, it never fails to deliver and it's so fun, action packed, sad, touching, cool. i've seen this countless times and every time it just delivers on all fronts. it's the only good robocop film (only the remake is passable) and one of the best films of 1987. sure some of the acting good be better and sure some of the camerawork could be a little tighter but otherwise this is a no holds barred relentless action sci-fi masterpiece. gory as hell (it wouldn't be a verhoeven film without gore and a smattering of nudity), with amazing make-up (on... read

there are a lot of clunky parts to robocop, and i'm not just talking about the ed-209. there is a lot of social commentary about consumerism and the privatization of public services that is there but really underdeveloped. the pacing is a little disjointed and the action hasn't aged as well as its contemporaries. there are occasional flashes of brilliance that pop up though. i really liked the news segments and commercials that were intercut to underscore how disjointed and disconnected society can be from the real issues we are facing. much like starship troopers, verhoeven's interludes are... read

undeniably a five star affair. murphy might have undergone a full-body prosthesis to become robocop, but paul verhoeven saved his heart. murphy's arc from man to machine to 'man' again is phenomenally executed and still makes me wanna cheer by the end. i also adore the basil poledouris score so much- as it waxes between profound human tragedy and brassy triumphant payback, it's utterly iconic and exceptionally memorable. apropos of nothing, i'd like to point out that peter weller was blasting red rain in earphones inside the helmet during the drug lab shootout and he fondly recalls it as one... read

So many great movie deaths here, but my favourite (if it counts) is Robocop tricking the big evil robot into falling down the stairs. The goon getting covered in acid and then fucking obliterated by a speeding car is a close second. read

Слишком жестокий для трэша, и слишком трэшовый для серьезного фильма. Сначала нам показывают, как челика жестоко убивают, а потом как робот катится с лестницы. Получилось очень не сбалансировано. read
