carrie is a fantastic movie for so many reasons it becomes almost hard to list them all. it is one of the best stephen king adaptations and that is saying something now 41 years later. it is one of de palma's best movies made at the peak of his creativity. it is just perfect, or near perfect. telling the story of a girl with psychic powers who comes from a home with a religious and crazy mom and a school that taunts her there really hasn't been and probably never will be a director like de palma who can pull this story off. he does such a good job that i think this film is in many ways better... read more

carrie is one of those classics that i think i would've been disappointed in no matter what, even if i did like it a lot. which i did. it all has to do with expectations, which are naturally high for me, given that carrie is often among the top of the lists of the best horror films of all time. it's even tarantino's eighth favorite film ever. with all that in mind, carrie is a pretty good, iconic horror flick that pretty much anyone who likes horror films has to have seen by now. the film isn't that great technically or anything like that, but it is consistently entertaining, with an read more
