it's takashi miike but it feels like sion sono. the 'gods' come down to earth- japan, specifically, to play childish games with the teenage population. the thing is, these games are... deadly. the survivors are dubbed the children of god and the whole world ends up watching as they progress to the next round of the insane game. i was pretty fascinated throughout, as the movie consistently kept me guessing. it's shocking, and surprising, and dementedly random. i love it. it's wild and bloody, and you can almost care about the characters too. those looking for a story with closure and total read more
