thanks to hollie horror i had to rewatch this after reading her review. it's utter madness. soldiers reanimated and remote controlled to become the ultimate soldier. brilliant idea. for vaguely scientific reasons they need to be chilled to heal. there's talk of hyper-acceleration of cellular activity. i'm not a scientist in the slightest but that makes me think of increased degeneration as opposed to regeneration. hey, i'm not the one who made a film that's awesome so who the fuck cares about my opinion. everything about this film is lunacy. dolph lundgren wears a necklace of ears and read

roland emmerich is a master of ripping himself off. he keeps making the same movie over and over. destruction of earth either by aliens, or weather he has done it again and again. so who knew that one of the most hated scenes in the id4 sequel was actually ripped off from universal soldier. which scene? the bus scene. it's like emmerich said le's replace the truck with an alien and it will be totally original. but it wasn't, it came from this movie and in this movie it was just as bad (okay, nothin gis as bad as id4 2 but still). i used to like universal soldier. i always thought it was one... read
