It's the silliest and most childlike of all the Mad Max films, and yet in many ways it's also the most mature. The way it presents Bartertown as a functioning society without entirely vilifying it as "Bad Guy Camp" makes it all the more frustrating that the second half is a still-fun but unsatisfying rescue operation. read more

much better than i remember as a kid, when i was watching on a rented vhs and got bored as soon as the children were introduced and there hadn't been any car action. now i have more patience and appreciation for what miller was trying to achieve here. actually a pretty great action flick, if you take it on its own merits and try not to judge it too harshly against predecessors. an important expansion on the mad max mythos and stepping stone towards fury road. read more

well, this was different again but definitely the weak part of the original trilogy. i love master/blaster. quality combo and the shock reveal of blasters face is nicely done. a lovely touch. despite being the weak point of the trilogy it's still a fun film. i don't quite remember seeing so much of tina turner when i saw this before but i didn't watch a blu-ray version before so maybe it was just more noticeable. read more
