i don't know why but i had a hankering to watch the fly ii. rather than just jump straight in with a sequel i had to watch the fly. possibly my first taste of cronenberg when i was younger. visually, it sticks in my head more than any of his other films. this is such a great story and fantastically put up on screen. i'm also a big fan of the gore. read

yeah yeah special effects, yada yada creepy fly man, blah blah ew. the real core of this movie is so achingly human, with all the bumps and warts of relationships, and that's the real horror of the film. the brundelfly is the set piece, the people are the movie. read
