back when this was released i just had to see it. it had great reviews but more importantly it was hailed as a revival/comeback/throwback to matthew broderick, the amazing 80's star of such films as ferris bueller, war games, project x, max dugan returns and ladyhawke. and man did i love this film then, and every time i've watched it i loved it since. and every time i am flipping channels and this comes on tv i just can't help but watch it. and what is it that makes it so special? is it because it is hilarious? maybe but also maybe because it is smart and original and finely tuned and well... read more

excellent, excellent movie. the freeze frames, the juxtapositions, the whole editing, the sound editing (starting with the sounds during the opening credits - that was great), that tracking shot while mr m is walking behind a wall to the other office, reese winterspoon's acting, the way all multiple perspectives and story lines come together not just in terms of plot, but also in terms of themes - or maybe just one theme: delusion. i liked the hilarious spiraling with multiple characters doing what is basically the same mistake; also the inner rants following the same "i'm fine with it" to... read more
