A Prairie Home Companion

robert altmans final film follows in his style perfectly. a massive ensemble of interesting characters run around for a while and then it ends. there really isnt much of a point and most of the characters have limited to no arcs, but it works because the characters are already interesting and we never linger with any one character for too long. kevin klines guy noir is a hilarious character that kline was perfect to play and he is just so at odds with the rest of the cast that is works. so much of this film is stuff that shouldnt really work, but it does. it is a very enjoyable watch and a... read more
