Little Women

i've never read the novel and i think the best i can say about this adaptation was that it was a good primer for gerwig's adaptation in lieu of actually reading the book ? i got a great sense of the timeline and the characters (winona and kirsten were particularly good) but overall i felt that the staging lacked a certain vitality that was available in spades in gerwig's version. i listened to the bechdel cast episode on this version and i like and appreciate the feminist nods that were added to the script. overall it's a pretty ok film. won't be re-watching it but glad that it exists. read more
