It's a nice simple B-Movie. Well made, well shot, well done. No idea how on earth they make a bunch of sequels out of it at this stage. read more

that scene where his wife and child are killed hit me so hard this time. i can fully understand why max would do what he did. i'd be devastated if that happened to me. everything looks so dry and uncomfortable on screen you can almost feel the griminess. society is fucked in the world of mad max and it almost leaks off the screen. read more

i really like the atmosphere and looks of this film (which is what i think remained for its sequels), as well as the beginning scenes which promise us a full-of-action road film, but everything after that is just a typical story with some good bits and scenes but underwhelming in a way that even the name is just about the last 10 minutes of the film, and when the film gets to those 10 minutes they aren't even as close to "madness" as you'd think they'll be (for example, not being even similar to the first scene). ill probably see the sequels, just to see what george miller did with mad max... read more
