Arguably the best Michael Myers based "Halloween" movie

Story: 9

If you want a proper sequel to the original

This movie picks up 40 years after the original 1978 film, you follow the story of a few characters throughout the movie and they all have a story building role to play. the person you end up the most with is Allyson the granddaughter of Laurie (the survivor of the 1978 film)

You get a lot of the basics in this movie and a drop in all the new "mythos" more or less axing a majority of the other movies in the series. But this is so good because of that because you get a Raw Michael Myers experiences that leaves you enthralled and spooked all at once.

The plot is mostly straight forward "staple" classic horror with a few twists as you go often leaving you guessing.and assuming the wrong thing (you feel like you are been toyed with) and it feels great adding to the whole experiences

Visuals: 9

Not over done

You get your modern technical styled horror making it bloodier and much more realistic. This added to the cringe of the gore but in no way over done. All the shots are clear and show you exactly what it intends to show you. No insane special effects, no glitz and glamor here or mirrors and smoke just great filming and acting

Sound: 10

Gives you chills

Nothing makes your skin crawl more than hearing the sound of Michael's theme kick in and seeing the events unfold as they may. Sound was clean, voices clear and music really well done. You feel captivated almost the entire time. Solely because the music and sounds of the movie just keep drawing you back, demanding your attention every step of the journey.

Character: 10

Insanely well developed

If you watched the first you already have a the back story but even if you haven't you would still not miss anything. This movie pulled an amazing feat that I don't think many realized. you have no questions about the story! none!
You have an amazing build into the movie filling you in with all the knowledge you need to enjoy every scene they had to offer and more. Characters a full and in the classic horror fashion a little dim at times, but not to much.
You get to realte and bond to characters (you poor sole) see their plight and watch their stories unfold, often in relatively unpredictable ways.

Enjoyment: 10

A True Love Letter to the classics

It was refreshing to watch something so good paying such homage to its roots in the horror genre. I felt completely captivated in the story and nostalgia all at once. A must see for any Halloween Franchise fans and Horror buffs in general, a true Resurrection the the name it holds.
