while there were definitely moments that had me wondering why i was watching this after not really loving winners & sinners all that much, in the end i'm glad i did. i don't really know why this had to be a lucky stars movie, unless you really needed a group of people delivering the broadest comedy possible. which you don't because this would've been a much more focused sequel without them. but then you still get: jackie chan cosplaying and fighting as dr. slump's arale, michiko vs sibelle hu, jackie vs dick wei, and when they finally decide to let him out of his cage for a minute or two: read

a lot of this actively annoyed me. the stuntwork was top tier, the fight choreography was fantastic, but the humor was so obnoxiously lecherous and over the top. i'm used to some, but there's a couple sequences in here that just... go on way too long to just cringe away. i'm used to a lot of the silly humor and slapstick comedy in jackie's early hk films, but this was... whew. still, phenomenal fight scenes and acrobatics. if you got your phone handy, it'll be a breeze to twitter scroll through the cringe, and appreciate the rest of it that much more. edit: the more i reflect on it, the less... read
