the rock becomes in action and hollywood heavyweight in the rundown. he's got great charisma and he makes this picture much better than it would be otherwise. what doesn't work in this picture is that the tone is all over the place. it's either action or comedy and it never quite comes together as both. when it tries doing both at the same time it never works but when it is one or the other they both work really well. unfortunately it also makes the film feel disjointed and it never flows that well. still, the rock, along with sean william scott, the always great rosario dawson and read more

A film ahead of it's time, with a pre-real name casting The Rock in a self aware, awesome comedy action flick, released when the fast and furious movies still thought they were serious. So of course it under performed at the box office. I swear if you rereleased this film today it would make a killing. read more
