jason returns in this film which is way better than part five but not as good as the first four. it's almost a comedy this time but jason is still menacing and the kills are pretty great. it's a pretty solid friday the 13th film, a half decent slasher flick and a somewhat poorly made movie in other regards but if you like your jason vorhees with a dash of humour and a smattering of killings then this sure won't disappoint. where were the boobies in this one? production design: 7 out of 10 cinematography: 7 out of 10 re-playability: 8 out of 10 originality: 6 out of 10 costumes: 7 out of 10... read

this is unironically kinda great. it's self-aware to know what it is, what it wants to be, and pulls it off perfectly. tommy's storyline conclusion is so satisfying. from the very first scene, his presence is so strong, and he manages to hold it throughout the entire film. i was surprised at how technically solid this was. editing and pacing are great. you're never thinking about how unrealistically stupid this 80's horror story is because it just won't give you a chance to get uninvested. there are even some really good shots that fit extremely well with the scene. harry manfredini, who has... read

after the disaster that was a new beginning, the friday the 13th franchise redeems itself with the sixth entry, jason lives. this installment sought to correct the mistakes of part five and brings jason voorhees back, introducing him as the zombie-esque killer he would remain throughout the franchise's continuity. the script from tom mcloughlin (who also directed) has been been referred to as a prototype for the scream-style self-aware slashers that would become prevalent in the 1990s and it is a valid reference; many of the lines are doing with a wink of the eye but in a good way. mcloughlin... read

I mostly liked this one for the kills. But hated it for the fact we had yet again a new actor for the character Tommy. I understand they had to cast a new one because Corey Feldman wasn't old enough, but it was lousy for them to re-cast for the role again.
Also, the storyline is so dragged out now. And the actual chances of a person wanting to return to a place where people have been murdered year after year is highly unlikely. You can't just change the name of a lake/town and expect people to forget the atrocities that occurred there. People talk. The legend of something so major would read

1986s Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives was directed by Tom McLoughlin and received critical success and cult classic status. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has a 50% for critics and a 53% for audiences, which is very high for this series.
This movie follows Jasons corpse being struck by lightning and being brought back to life, just like Frankenstein, and returns to hunt Tommy Jarvis at Camp Crystal Lake.
Tommy Jarvis in this movie is pretty good and is played by Thom Matthias, the third and final actor to play Jarvis. Hes easily better than the one in A New Beginning but is in no way better... read

The origin of zombie Jason and the only Friday the 13th movie to have no nudity. Possibly my fav of the whole franchise though, pacing is quite fast and there is no shortage of kills read

31 Days of Halloween 2023 Movie 14Easily one of the best in the series. Perfect combination of horror and comedy unfortunately no nudity. I can't narrow it down but for me the 3 best in the series are 3, 4 and 6. Zombie Jason isn't my favorite (Richard Booker in 3 and Ted White in 4 in that order) but he is brutal especially the folding Sheriff bit. In case you forgot the deputy returns in Don't Hike In The Snow. Thom Matthews is great as Tommy Jarvis. This deserves more credit than it gets but I do see a lot of people within the fandom that rank this entry high. read
