hoop-tober 2.0: film 21 *********************************************************************** this is the third time george a. romero has worked with stephen king (the first was knightriders where king acted in it and the second was creepshow where king wrote and acted in it). actually it's based on a stephen king book but that's about all when it comes to his involvement. so i have read the book (twice) and seen the movie a few times (the first time in the theatre). why? is it that good? well the book i read twice as i read it when it first came out (on bargain book shelving) and then read more

31 days of Halloween 2022 Movie 37 Another one I passed on when it came out. It's not bad but it's really not that good. It's worth a watch but it's pretty unremarkable. A lot of slashing and they try to do a mystery thing but it doesn't really work. Michael Rooker is good here as an incompetent Sheriff (seriously with that evidence you DON'T make the arrest?). It got more attention being another Stephen King and George Romero movie, both praise and criticism. The female lead was a bit past her "best buy" date and should have stayed with Uncle Buck. read more
