it's quite a poignant time to watch this film, as more and more anti-masker groups march for their right to infect their loved ones with a deadly disease. the point of this film is simple - nationalism is more dangerous than whichever perceived threat it promises to vanquish. for this reason it baffles me that so many people are comparing this to the films of emmerich, abrams or bay, which at the best of times are poorly crafted attempts at pro-capitalist propaganda, and at the worst of times are lazily-written carbon copies of one another packed full of explosions and one-liners to distract... read more
