Police Story 3: Super Cop

this was certainly better than police story 2 but definitely didn't reach the heights of the first. i've to admit i didn't really understand why chan's character had to be involved. seemed a bit contrived but who watches these for plausible story? i'm enjoying my foray into this line of action cinema and i'm certainly going to try and complete the series. i love the action and jackie chan is fun screen presence. read more

it's a crying shame chan never worked again with michelle yeoh, because their combined dynamic has endless potential- most of which feels untapped in police story 3. sadly, i've only been able to see the edited miramax cut, supercop. even as is, it's impossible to hinder chan's charisma which shines through as much as his crazy choreography does. still, while police story 3 is a delight as serviceable jackie chan fare, it doesn't stack up to its predecessors. which is mind boggling because adding michelle yeoh should've made this the best of the bunch. this should've been legendary. instead,... read more

I knew about this when it was released in America just called Supercop, back then I had literally no idea that this was connected to Police Story at all. It's still following the formula of 80's Jackie Chan movies in tone and it's action. It's still has inventive fun ways to interact with the surroundings in order to complement the fights in the movie. Both Chan and Yeoh are great and have good chemistry together.
