man. that score. that scream. carrie might be endearing and endless to me because of when i watched it, but this is de palma's magnum opus. read more

really liked first half of this film, it was interesting , unique and had suspense. but then this whole turns into a bad action where characters must running from each other. but i've must appreciate, this ending was nice. read more

blow out is probably the best made of the 'de palma' films. by 'de palma' films i mean the ones that are uniquely his. the almost always erotic thriller that homages hitchcock while at the same time being uniquely de palma with crazy camera work, split diaopters and some crazy split screen sequences. these films include such works as raising cain, dressed to kill, femme fatale, body double and even carrie to some extent. he goes all out here, minus the eroticism for a sleek, bleak and dark thriller with a cast of actors that he has used in the past. this film is so 'de palma' it hurts. and... read more
