this first sequel (and i'm sure the rest of them) is exactly what i expected of it. it's basically a low rent magnificent seven sequel a la planet of the apes. by that i mean that with each sequel (to the original series) the budgets and therefore the sets and costumes and such got worse. sadly, the change is so drastic, and watching this right after the original, it makes it so that this is not a very good movie. i mean the sets (the staged ones) look so fake, the cinematography is so bland and boring (and i actually said in my review of the original that all westerns have great read more

Very disappointing sequel to one of the best westerns of all time. Despite the return of Yul Brynner it just didn't have the magic of the first movie. I know Yul Brynner requested that Steve McQueen not take part in this but the 7 gunslingers apart from Brynner, Claude Akins and Warren Oates are not any actors I'm familiar with. Filmed at the same village as the first movie which I thought was bizarre. read more
