Review of Wasted! The Story of Food Waste
by Ryan Kepert

Overall Rating
most of the interviewees come off as pompous dickheads. ends up having the opposite effect than intended on the viewer by loosely hinting that "some people over here have it kinda figured out, so we'll be fine". then speeds through the resources/advice without giving you any time to make note of them, which is the important stuff that somebody would even watch this for. an interviewee in the credits remarks that he prefers the "scaring the shit out of people approach" and you can't help but agree and wish you saw a better docu. also, the section about the guy who eats animal sphincters and placentas, so as to "not waste the animal", was fucking preposterous. trying to make gross animal parts palatable to restaurant goers, instead of simply realising that the whole concept of eating animal parts is in-itself gross (when you think about it for more than 10 seconds). and for those that think, "not wasting" an animal's body is a sign of respect, it's actually the most undignified way of treating a body, to chop it to all kinds of bits and eat them. here's an idea; if you're worried about waste, inefficiency, or the environment in any capacity whatsoever, watch cowspiracy then refrain from eating disgusting animal corpses entirely. p.s. fuck restaurants, chefs, and that entire concept.
