4 stars? yep. i mean sure, it's got some really poor effects and very cheap looking costumes but everything else is gold. there's the jam packed screenplay that fits in tons of characters and lots of story and it's all put together in less than 80 minutes where you are never confused and never not amused. then there is the cast. david carradine kills it here. he is effortlessly cool and composed and such a bad ass. and a young stallone just before he hit it big. it was awesome to watch caine beat rocky to a pulp. and then there is mary woronov who is a great cult actress and is always a read more

this is even funner and dumber than i was expecting. the sociopolitical commentary was front and center, though i am not sure what it was going for or trying to say. i thought it might build to a message, but that was not the case. still, it was a an odd inclusion in a pulpy, goofy celebration of violence and sex. the highlight is without a doubt when it just goes full wile e coyote for a bit. read more

i'm kinda disappointed this didn't really do it for me with how cartoony it is. maybe the satire was a bit too on the nose, or i don't really care for carradine's stoic shtick. woronov was great though, and stallone, well, you could tell it was early on in his career so he's a bit interchangeable and clumsy but he definitely nailed the angry cartoon italian. eh, who knows, maybe i just need to let it fester some more like i did the running man which is now an a number one duke of new york movie 4 me. read more
