i was really looking forward to this film. i'm a fan of peter berg and i had heard this was fantastic. it wasn't. it's a good film but not fantastic. more a drama than a sports film it tells the true story of a high school texas football team in 1988. the good: the directing and acting are great. the story is very dramatic and it is told well and the football scenes are really well shot. this is heavy drama, it's not a feel good sports flick. the bad: it kind of plays like it is going to be a feel good flick and gets you really excited at the 'feel-good' never comes. it's actually a really... read more
