i saw this film a few (maybe 10 years ago) in a full frame vhs looking copy. it sucked beyond belief and couldn't understand why it was so well known (the ending of course) and i hated it. then i saw all three parts for 5 bucks each brand new. i bought them all and now i finally get to watch them starting with the first one again. this time around it wasn't as bad as remembered. it's still pretty bad but not as god awful and as unwatchable as i remember. so what's bad about this film. let's see: - the editing of the death scenes - the cheesy death scenes (the bees was terrible, the pot o read

film #7 of hoop-tober 2.0 the 1983 slasher classic sleepaway camp is one of those difficult films to give an objective rating to. just about everything about this horror flick is poor on a technical level; the dialogue is atrocious, the acting is pure camp and the technical aspects are mediocre for the most part. but damned if it isn't a lot of fun. that's the joy of the early slasher films; they were made on low budgets with a director who really have the know-how of how hollywood made great films, but that left them free to explore creative ways to get their passion projects made. and read
