Anna and the Apocalypse

i enjoyed this film quite a bit, despite a few flaws. i liked the band of survivors that forms around anna. they all seem like unlikely heroes, which i think gives the film a nice underdog feel and this and their banter gives the film a distinctly british feel. the musical element is incorporated well, and adds an off-kilter feel to things. the song "turning my life around" is a really well-judged piece of black comedy, and i don't think paul kaye's character would work at all in a more grounded film. i think my main problem with the film is that the plot is a bit disjointed. it wasn't clear... read more
