quick hit: the grudge is far from the worst horror film of the first couple months of 2020 (hello the turning and brahms: the boy ii), but it sure isn't good. nicolas pesce's attempts to breathe some life into this franchise by telling a parallel story in the united states is an interesting choice, but it fails because the characters just aren't up to snuff. that's not anything against the cast; john cho, andra riseborough, betty gilpin, lin shaye, and the rest do what they can here and lift the material by sheer force of will. but there just isn't enough of a character for any of them... read more

well , it's not that bad , the movie is entertaining, the cast was good and here we have a different vengeful spirit and alot of jump scares. well in the end its worth watching 1 time. for me is the worst movie of the grudge franchise. two and a half star because was entertaining after all. read more

Yet another remake of this series shows that Hollywood is truly running out of original ideas. This is actually a lot better than the 4.1 that is the current rating on IMDB. There is some familiar faces in the cast in Demian Bichir, Andrea Riseborough and John Cho and it has enough thrills and gore to satisfy most horror fans. Watchable read more

Devoid of scares, The Grudge continues the story of a curse that attaches itself to those who enter its domain and the events follow a detective trying to unravel proceedings whilst keeping the demonic spirit at bay to protect herself and her child. The Grudge is another forgettable reboot of a outdated series that refuses to die, that does at least have some technical merit in terms of its direction and the acceptable performances of its cast who do the best with the little they have to work with. read more
