i mentioned to someone at work that i was watching this on the way home and quite looking forward to it as i hadn't seen it. he proceeded to say "oh yeah, it's got charlie from casualty in it, hoskins does him in as he's the fucker who started it all." the cunt. enjoyed the film regardless and it's definitely a classic. the look on hoskins' face in the final shot is absolutely perfect. you an read so much into what he's thinking, brilliant. spotted a "young" brick top, which was nice. read more

52 years 52 weeks 52 arrows 2019 1980 watched this on arrow video blu-ray steelbook. i like that they included a cockney slang dictionary in the booklet lol. alright, let's start 2019 with a good movie! i love gangster films, but i've never really watched too many british gangster films. while this isn't the best looking film, it's certainly well-written and superbly acted led by bob hoskins and helen mirren. i almost didn't recognize pierce brosnan at first (he plays an ira hitman). the pacing was great, and i enjoyed this movie! recommended! read more
