alright, lemme clear this up really quick, i've seen way too many grown ass people telling everyone that the 80's weren't really like this and that this is just a riff on spielbergian aesthetics that 90's kids have become obsessed with. uh, yeah. that's the point. if you think these movies are trying to be docu-real representations of the 80's, you really don't get it. these movies that try and recapture that aesthetic are intentionally 80's-via-spielberg. they know exactly what they're trying to be, and they hit the nail on the head. moreover when i say "these", i'm including movies like it,... read more

This movie was quite a surprise. I wasn't expecting much as its had little fanfare but what a ride. Throw in a cross between "The Goonies" and Stand By Me" and mix in "Stranger Things" and this is it. The film also had the feeling of the horror/thriller movies I use to watch in the 80's and 90's. It has a good amount of tense moments to keep horror fans happy and I think all the cast were great. Don't want to say much about what happens but highly recommend it. Enjoy read more
