كلمة السر إيكاروس المخرج ماثيو فون اختار انه يحكي عن نشأة منظمة kings man في إطار حكايتين الأولى وهي إسطورة إيكاروس إيكاروس كان والده المعماري دايدالوس، الاتنين قاموا ببناء متاهة للملك مينوس، حصلت بينهم وبين الملك مشكلة فحبسهم بداخل المتاهة، فدايدالوس عمل اجنحة من الشمع والريش له ولابنه عشان يطيروا ويهربوا من الجزيرة ووصى ابنه إنه لا يقرب من الشمس، ولكن الابن لم ينصت لأبيه وسقط من السماء والمخرج استخدم نفس الاسطورة في حكاية دوق اكسفورد ( رالف فاينس) المناهض للحرب، عند مقتل زوجته، وصته انه يحافظ على ابنهم كونراد ( هاريس ديكنسون) ، فكان خايف عليه الاطار الثاني للحكاية وهو استخدام احداث الحرب... read

Beautifully conceived, The King’s Man is a magnificent mélange of James Bond and Indiana Jones based on the original comic book spy stories. A wide-ranging jaunt twisting through the key points of The Great War, laced with humour and historicity - a fabulous spy story stirring a gamut of emotions such as funny, tragic and exhilaration. Many cultural references run through the movie such as the Wilfred Owen poems and the 1812 Overture playing during the Rasputin duel, indeed the soundtrack choices are on-point and complement the action. never boring, but certainly awkward for the majority of it's 131 minute run time. a good 80 of those minutes are spent flicking back and forth between jarringly disparate tones. on one hand, the king's man would have you convinced that it's an absurdist send-up of its own genre ilk, and on the other hand it treats the rest of its material with the dire seriousness of an oscar-bait wwi movie. it's not that neither one is entertaining, it's that there's no synergy between them. it's not just a tongue-in-cheek spy jaunt set during war time, no, it's a full on spy comedy here and a grisly war read
