Phantasm IV: Oblivion

film #5 of hooptober 3.0: the quickening there's a good idea at the core of phantasm iv: oblivion, but there's just not enough substance to see it through. don coscarelli wants to go back to the origins of the tall man for this film, but budgeting problems forced him to use too much cut footage to pad out the running time and not enough new story. the cast of returnees are game in angus scrimm, michael baldwin, reggie bannister and bill thornbury, while heidi marnhout logs a brief but memorable moment as jennifer but there's not enough here to really make the story work. the flashback read more
