wow! can i just say: wow!! i've seen this film once before and i remember thinking it was great, if a little slow. this time around i was a little hesitant as i wasn't really in the mood for something slow. i was wrong. it wasn't slow at all. it was amazing in every department. it was so well done. it was so gripping. it looked so beautiful. the effects were so so good. guy pearce: i love that guy. ray winstone: he was so good in this. danny huston: awesome and he needs to be in more things. nick cave: great screenplay he wrote here which is only outdone by his even better music. wow! that's... read

a gritty western that embraces all of the worst parts of that time. i really appreciated the dichotomy of captain stanley and his wife trying to bring civilization to rural australia and the burns gang relishing the chaos. it was really well shot to capture the emptiness of the outback. the soundtrack was a bold choice that worked really well at times and was a little jarring at others. watched as part of scavenger hunt 43 task #21: choose a movie in which one of nick cave's numerous songs appears. my list | wayne little's master list read

52 years in 52 weeks 2018 2005 film school drop outs 2018 week 28 - actor - david gulpilil watched this on itunes. really solid atmospheric neo-western thriller from australia. it has all the ingredients of the american western with just enough weird shit, and it's violent as hell. guy pearce is great, just like usual. read
