the plains and clouds are captured magnificently in this tale of (not-so) innocent young love. morricone's music stays in the background melodiously enough to evoke but not distract. however, i really wish the movie had a stronger plot, as the whole younger-sister narrative/pov was lost on me. nonetheless, i really enjoyed the way this movie captures the wind (blowing of the chaff), and closeup zooms of various creatures -- cute & not-so-cute. this was my first time watching how locusts dehusk a wheat stalk and devour the grain within. read
