9 en un lugar solitario. una de las peliculas menos conocidas de bogart, pero en ella esta una de sus mejores interpretaciones, un personaje complejo llena de aristas y en el que se ve implicado en un asesinato como principal sospechoso. excepcional y magistral. read

mystery mondays #1 watched this on criterion collection blu-ray. great film noir, and surprisingly dark for a 1950's film. this, to me, is humphrey bogart's best performance of the movies i've seen him in. i will say that the poster is a lie. the finish isn't a surprise, but it for damn sure is well executed. read

Bogart and Grahame are a terrific team (she is the designing actress), but also good are Frank Lovejoy, Jeff Donnell (as his wife), Martha Stewart (no not that one) as the murder victim, Art Smith as the agent, and Robert Warwick (just wonderful) as the washed-up actor. Everything in the story revolves around Hollywood and movie making, but this is NOT really a film about Hollywood; it's a murder read
