while watching this i thought a lot about how well this would translate to an episodic tv series so i wasn't surprised when i discovered this was based on one also peter capaldi screaming fucks and speaking so fast that my subs didn't even translate some lines is incredibly funny for some reason read more

as a massive thick of it fan i couldn't help but feel a bit disappointed with this film. if they hadn't used the same actors in different roles it probably would have been easier to settle in. however; you've got the strange thing of peter capaldi as malcolm tucker with chris addison not playing ollie reader. still; get over that and you're in for a perplexing view of how politics completely twists itself into unforeseeable situations because everybody is grabbing power. tom hollander and steve coogan deserve special mentions here for brilliance. read more

Once you've seen this film a couple times and the jokes lose their impact, it's just one of the most depressing hour and fourty five minutes ever put to celluloid. read more
