drawn to this movie ages back due to its hauntingly hypnotic fugue-like soundtrack, i'd resisted the secret's call since this teenybopper romance wasn't likely to be in wifey's genre. she surprised me tonight by actually being curious about it, and what a downer it was. perhaps a little overhyped by jay's hordes of fans, the movie did not feel as clever, witty or well-made as hoped. i found bits that were derivative of the truly moving piano show, 1900, and ageless romance somewhere in time, thrown in with a little 3-iron and 6th sense, creating a mumbled, jumbled mess that came crashing down... read more
