a spot-on (darkly-)humourous view at our asian overemphasis on prestige, education & qualification, to the sacrifice and neglect of almost all else. bittersweet memories of engineering school and hostel orientation tension. the movie does well to contrast all that gloom and doom with sparkling idealism coming from aamir. a poignant reminder to hold on to.your passion and values, no matter what the broken system tries to coax the masses into. read more

i was worried this was going to be a dumb and dumber style comedy based on the title and poster. it is not that, it is actually a well constructed comedy that tackles some bigger issues and has some heart. however, it did still have some issues. for the most part it is a lighter comedy, but it has the runtime of an epic and occasionally pauses to tackle heavy hitting issues like suicide. while its look at the suicide issues among students in india was well done, it didn't fit with the tone of the rest of the film. the score was also beyond heavy handed, playing music that would be overdoing... read more
